REALICIDE
YOUTH RECORDS
SOME BASIC BOOKING GUIDELINES FOR REALICIDE TOURS…
Whenever possible we would prefer to be the only touring act on
the shows, though of course there are often exceptions, just let us know what's
up and we'll plan accordingly. Also, we prefer to play in the middle of the
lineup, with local support opening and closing the show when it is possible and
okay with how things are being arranged.
As far as local bands, meeting new local bands is a great part of
touring. We prefer to play with local acts of any kind that might focus on
radical / socio-political ideas. This is much more valuable to us than playing
with music that sounds similar to what we do. We love hearing all variations of
hardcore punk and hardcore electronic music though, of course. We will play
with noise bands, but unless they have a strong constructive message of some
sort we'd really prefer to see punk, electronic, industrial, basically we are
not aimless nihilists and don't particularly enjoy spending our evenings with
aimless and often blatantly accidental nihilists. We especially love playing
with bands that are into talking to us about local activities...
Venues... We do NOT prefer bar venues and we do not fit well at
all in a dance party environment. Understandably, often these are the best
circumstances available, but it could at least be known that when they are
avoidable we really prefer houses, artspaces,
warehouses, DIY anything as much as possible,
usually, with audiences that come to have a lot of fun but also really check
out what the acts are offering.
Also, for venues, we would need in most cases to be performing in
a place with a powerful (LOUD) sound system, 1 vocal mic,
and a medium-sized table. We do not want to play on stages of any kind whenever
they can be avoided. We prefer to have no physical separation from the audience
in most cases.
We really appreciate a safe place to sleep, at any welcoming
house, where people are into hanging out but also understanding that we need to
get rest in preparation for the next drive or event. Any dates on our tours are
typically 1-5 people traveling, depends on the tour…
If there are any other activities in your city we could plan some
time for we'd love to know in advance and try to fit things in... Radio shows
that might have us on air; local infoshops or radical
bookstores; cool record shops especially if they might pick up a couple of our
records; any local green projects; etc. Let us know if anything like this could
be cool to plan for!
Lastly, if you are promoting our events, please keep in mind that Myspace is not our primary website. Whenever possible we
would prefer to use www.realicide.com as the listed reference
site for the band, NOT a Myspace page.
